Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to 24 seats in BVSc &
AH degree programme at ICAR-IVRI, Deemed University as per schedule notified in the
Information Bulletin for BVSc & AH admissions 2019-20 and uploaded on ICAR-IVRI
Website (www.ivri.nic.in). Merit list of NEET (UG) 2019 will be used for admissions in BVSc
& AH degree programme. The interested candidates are advised to visit the ICAR-IVRI
website (www.ivri.nic.in) or follow the link (http://www.ivri.nic.in/application/default.aspx)
for registering themselves for counselling. The eligible/shortlisted candidates will have to
appear for counselling at ICAR-IVRI, Deemed University, Izatnagar on 22nd August, 2019
(10.00 AM onwards). The schedule for counselling and other important dates are available on
the ICAR-IVRI Website.
Note:
1. The application form is to be filled up and submitted online only. Detailed instructions
for filling up the application form, online payment of registration fee Rs. 1000/- for
General/OBC/EWS category and Rs.500/- for SC/ST/Divyang (PH) category and
online submission is provided on the IVRI Website (www.ivri.nic.in).

1. INTRODUCTION :
Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) was established on 9th December, 1889 as
Imperial Bacteriological Laboratory at Pune (Maharashtra) and was shifted to Mukteshwar,
Distt. Nainital (Uttarakhand) in 1893. IVRI gradually expanded to the present size with its
headquarters at Izatnagar (UP) and campuses at Mukteshwar, Bengaluru and regional
stations at Palampur, Kolkata and Pune. The administrative control of the Institute is
vested with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The research
contributions of the Institute have facilitated development of new biologicals including
diagnostics, vaccines and technologies for diagnosis, prevention, cure and control of many
devastating diseases of livestock and poultry, increased production of milk, meat, eggs and
other animal products. The Institute has been conferred the status of Deemed to be
University with effect from 16th November, 1983 under Section 3 of the University Grants
Commission Act (1956). Presently, the institute is providing quality education at masters’
and doctorate levels in 19 and 17 disciplines, respectively. From the academic session
2015-16, the institute has initiated under-graduate programme in Veterinary Sciences
(BVSc & AH degree). Besides the above courses, the institute has also been conducting
various short-term National and International Training Programmes, Short Courses and
Summer Institutes from time to time to make the professionals familiar with latest
developments in Veterinary and Animal Sciences. The Institute, spread over an area of
440.54 Acres, has a well established National Library of Veterinary Sciences, Animal and
Fodder Farms, Boys’ and Girls’ Hostels, Bank and Post Office facilities at its Izatnagar
campus. It is located at a distance of 258 km from New Delhi, and about 8 km from
Bareilly Jn. and 1 km from Izzatnagar Railway Station.
Like previous years, Merit list of NEET (UG) 2019 will be used for admissions in
BVSc & AH degree programme during 2019-20. In addition to this, the candidate
has to satisfy eligibility criteria as per VCI – MSVE Regulations, 2016 as mentioned
at Sr. No. 5 (Eligibility) of this Information Bulletin.

2. DURATION OF COURSE :
The duration of B.V.Sc. & A.H degree course is spread over five and half complete
professional years including a compulsory rotating internship of one year duration. 

3. NUMBER OF SEATS:
Total number of seats : 24

4. RESERVATION OF SEATS
(a) 15% seats (04 seats) are reserved for SC candidates,
(b) 7.5% seats (02 seats) are reserved for ST candidates,
(c) 27% seats (06 seats) are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC candidates as per Hon’ble
Supreme Court order dated 10.04.2008 and according to detailed instructions of the
Ministry of Human Resource Development issued vide their O.M. No. 1-1/ 2005-
UIA/847 dated 20.4.2008. Reservation would be applicable to the castes mentioned in
the Central list of OBC. Thus, the candidates falling in this list may mention OBC in
the Category Column in application form. Candidates from creamy layer and those
who do not come under Central List of OBC are advised to mention the category
as General.
(d) 10% seats (02 seats) are reserved for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of General
Category
(e) 4% seats* (01 seat) are reserved on Horizontal basis for Divyang Category (Physically
handicapped) candidates as per Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and as
defined in MSVE (BVSc & AH) regulations-2016 & under Section 5(iv) of this
information bulletin.
 (*Horizontal reservation to be given for Divyang Category (PH) candidates as per their
merit against the category i.e. General/ OBC/SC/ST to which they belong).


5. ELIGIBILITY

(i) NATIONALITY:
Candidates should be Indian Nationals.
(ii) AGE:
He or She has completed the minimum age of 17 years on or before the 31st December,
2019. Further, maximum age should not exceed to 25 years on or before 31.12.2019.
There shall be relaxation of maximum age by five years for Scheduled Caste (SC) or
Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Other Backward Class (OBC) or Divyang candidates.




(iii) ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:
He or She has passed the qualifying examination as defined under VCI - MSVE
Regulations, 2016 with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and
English (as a core course) and obtained marks as specified under regulations (7) or an
examination equivalent to intermediate science examination of an Indian University or
Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities taking Physics, Chemistry and
Biology including a practical test in each of these subjects and English. 
As per MSVE Regulations, 2016, a candidate under General Category for admission to the
BVSc & AH degree course shall have to qualify in each of the subjects of English,
Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and obtained 50% marks in aggregate of
these subjects, at the qualifying examination. 


In respect of candidates belonging to the SC
or ST or other special category of students as specified by the Government from time to
time, marks required for admission shall be 5% less than general standards i.e 45 %.
Admission of students to BVSc & AH degree course shall be made only on the basis of his
or her merit obtained in the Merit of NEET –UG-2019 subject to fulfillment of the other
criteria as laid down above including qualifying examination and no other merit or

weightage shall be considered for admission to BVSc & AH degree course
